YOU CAN FIND IT ALL ON THEREDPIN.COM IN NO TIME – QUICKLY AND EASILY
TheRedPin’s focus is to bring more clarity on real estate to the public, and to put homebuyers in the driver’s seat. The award-winning website does just that. In this article, we take a look at the different ways you can find the perfect home to suit your needs on TheRedPin.com. First and foremost, we will start with MLS® listings.
1. Searching the MLS®
Every active residential MLS® listing is available for viewing on TheRedPin.com. In order to see this full scope however, the Toronto Real Estate Board requires homebuyers (or just curious perusers) to register with us first. Luckily, unlike a lot of other websites, it just takes a couple of seconds. All TheRedPin.com needs, in order to give you this full access, is your name, valid e-mail address and password, and you’re off to the races!
Once you are signed in, you can start searching!
Make sure the MLS® box is checked off. Then, enter the area you want to search in the search bar. This can be a Toronto neighbourhood (The Beaches), city in the GTA (Vaughan), intersection (King and Strachan) or even a specific address (555 Ossington Ave.). The map will redirect to wherever you specify. Below the search bar, if you want to specify a price range, number of beds and or number of baths you can there. Anytime you change one of these search terms, just click on the magnifying glass to the right of the search bar to redo the search with the new terms.
WHERE ELSE CAN YOU VIEW MLS® LISTINGS WITH THIS MUCH INFORMATION RIGHT AT YOUR FINGERTIPS?
You can also refine your search with more details by clicking on the gear symbol to the right of the search bar, and specify even more property details including condos, houses, garages, balcony, pet-friendly, basement, exposure, and more!
Once you have searched, the map will display properties that fit your search terms. Grey boxes pinpoint properties, while the numbered circles indicate that there is more than one property there.
If you click on a grey box (property), you will see this:
From here you can view some details about the property, and RedPin it (to keep the property grouped as a favourite if you want to come back and view it again later). Details include more pictures of the property, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, how many days the property has been on the market, and how much money you’ll get back from TheRedPin Rebate if you purchase the property. Additionally, this popup outlines the type of property (condo, detached, townhouse, semi-detached etc.), square footage, and the selling brokerage.
You may click book a visit if you really want to see the property, and fill out the short form that pops up, and one of our Angels (customer loyalty team) will arrange for an agent who specializes in that area to show you the property in person based on a time that is convenient for you.
To view the full listing details, click on see property details and the full listing will open in a new window.
The full listing page outlines all the extra details about the property, including a description, taxes and/or maintenance fees if applicable, and a form to fill out in case you have any questions about the property.
Additionally, if you scroll down you can see all of the property details, room dimensions, utility information, local amenities (transit, banks, grocery, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, gas stations, etc.), a street view, and schools and daycares close by with ratings. Where else can you view an MLS® listing with all of this information right at your fingertips?
You can search as many MLS® listings s you want – at no cost, and as mentioned before, keep all of the listings you like the most in your Your RedPins by clicking on RedPin it when you see a property you like so you can view them at a later time and keep tabs on them.
2. Search by Listing Pages
If you want to view properties in a different way, that isn’t map-based, you can search using our listing pages at www.theredpin.com/cities.
From here you can choose the GTA city/suburb/town that you want to browse on the map or by clicking the name of the city/suburb/town below. From there, you will be taken to a listing page for that area.
If you are signed in, you will see every active MLS® listing available. If you are not signed in, you will only see 60% of the active listings. Again, registering takes just a few seconds (name, e-mail and password) and is free, and who knows, you may miss out on your dream property if you aren’t signed in!
Similar to the map search, you can refine your search by price, and number of bedrooms and bathrooms. You also will see high level details for each property here, and have the ability to view the full listing or book a visit!
If you choose Toronto, (http://www.theredpin.com/the-annex-toronto–listings) you can specify what neighbourhood you want to peruse with a neighbourhood pulldown menu:
When you are browsing through listings in a particular neighbourhood in Toronto, you can also browse by the streets of the neighbourhood when you are on the neighbourhood page:
These are two ways to search for homes on TheRedPin.com (for resale homes.) Stay tuned for next week’s post on New Condos and VIP Condo listings! These projects are all pre-construction or currently being built in and around the GTA.
