If there is one thing Torontonians love, it’s their food. The city is littered with thousands of restaurants from all cultures and cuisines, providing endless choice for veteran foodies. The location of good food and restaurants has become a top priority for homebuyers, looking for neighbourhoods that offer not just quality but variety as well.

We take a look at four neighbourhoods in Toronto that offer a variety of amazing food options to the residents of the community:

King Street West for the Foodie1) King Street West

King Street cuts across various different neighbourhoods and the west end is full of amazing restaurants and communities. You pass by both the Entertainment District and Financial District, offering numerious restaurant options for the adventurous foodies, including Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants at the TIFF Lightbox, Blowfish, Patria, Crush Wine Bar and more. The street itself is full of independently owned restaurants and bars, including a few notable chains such as Aroma Cafe. King West is a true foodie haven.

 

2) Roncesvalles

Roncesvalles is full of history and culture. Known for its significant Polish community, there are numerious Polish restaurants, shops and outlets located around the neighbourhood. The Polish Festival has brought in a few mom-and-pop businesses to showcase their original, specialty cuisine, in addition to all the other activities the festival brings. Some notable foodie joints include Mitzis, Mugshot Tavern and Domani.

3) Yorkville

It’d be pretty hard to keep Yorkville off this list. The central neighborhood just north of Bloor Street West is home to some of Toronto’s top restaurants, and a go to place for celebrities visiting the city to promote their films. Whether you want to be fancy at a five-star hotel or enjoy a sushi dinner, you got everything going for you. Residents can take a walk to the coveted One Restaurant at the Hazelton Hotel for neat brunch or exquisite dinner or walk over to Sushi Inn and immerse themselves in some Japanese cuisine.  Other notable foodie hangouts include Sassafraz and Caeren’s Wine and Cheese Bar.

Kensington Market - Foodie Fun4) Kensington

People who haven’t been to Kensington before often mistake the the neighbourhood for having a predominantly Asian influence. Yes, it’s right off of China Town and all the various Asian cuisines that the community offers, but the realty is, the community showcases many cultures including Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and more. The community is filled with a variety of different restarants and bars, each offering a unique perspective on food. Some notable foodie favourites include Splendido, Vero Bistro Modern and Sultan’s Tent.
