Colour Inspiration…the New Earthy Pastels
Colour schemes for interiors have their trendy moments, they come and go, and if you notice, when they come back, there is a new and re-invented combination of textures, materials , shapes etc. There is a trend toward a warmer cool happening. I really like it. It is muted, natural and pastel-like, but definitely not like in the 80′s.

Mother Nature is the best inspiration for colour combinations. This collection from Ralph Lauren called Modern Desert is calm, meditative and modern minded.

Another gorgeous image from the Desert Modern Collection...take all the greyed down camel, with the earthy taupe, a splash of turquoise and a dose of teak...perfect blend.

This colour scheme from Maxwell Fabrics is cool yet welcoming. The key is to include texture in your fabrics.

An accent colour like aqua blue and turquoise are compatible to just about any interior and any personality.

"Foothills is beautifully designed with a natural and rustic looking slubbed texture, harmonized by a soft and airy hand and drape. The color palette emphasizes natural tones and muted spice colors that capture the breezy casual essence of natural linen." Quote from Mazwell Fabrics

This kitchen exhibits the inspiration colours very well...It can be made more traditional or contemporary in style..this is what is so fabulous about this colour scheme

A soft desert taupy pink, clear sky blue and neutral grey are a calm collection, great for a bedroom or bathroom

This is a fantastic colour scheme for a kitchen or garden room...imagine a pop of bright green from a collection of ferns and a crisp white or black to accent the neutrals

Wood Flooring from Silverwood Flooring is perfect for this look...the floor looks like soft , fine sand on a beach

Another wood from Silverwood Flooring...the herringbone pattern brings sophistication and the natural bark colour of the wood grounds the room
