Ice, the residential component of York Centre consists of two residential towers of 65 and 55 storeys respectively, which along with its adjacent 31-storey office tower will face a landscaped public square and extend the PATH as it directly connects to Maple Leaf Square, which is immediately to the east across York Street. The complex at the south-west corner of York and Bremner contains a total of 1,800,000 square feet and is being uniquely designed by renowned architect Peter Clewes of Architect Alliance in a distinct Scandinavian design, which will feature an iconic canopy element with an extensive green roof.

ICE lobby Tower 2 EXPRESSION ICE is a collaboration of some of the finest minds and brightest talents of the day. In search for the newest icons of classic Scandinavian design the ICE team traveled to Sweden and Norway in the spring of 2008. They went in search of inspiration and ideas for ICE Condos and they brought back with them an understanding of the breadth, depth and brilliance of Scandinavian design. Their admiration is aptly reflected in their designs for ICE.

The unique curve in the ICE property as it joins Lakeshore and the Gardiner, was a key factor in the curvilinear design language that inspired architect Peter Clews (architects Alliance). Almost immediately ICE's oval organic shape suggested a somewhat Nordic sensibility that quickly began to influence the "look" of both the interior space and the landscaping. Comprising three towers and an urban courtyard, ICE is tied together by a green roof canopy that partially encloses and protects the various elements of the project. While almost all the design elements at ICE have a function, Clewes evolved some design elements for purely decorative purposes, like the two roof planes at the very top of the towers. But if the top of ICE is purely decorative, the base of the building is very functional indeed, wit its busy podium level full of shops, cafes and restaurants, its expansive treed plaza with a dazzling water feature and its direct connection to the underground PATH system.

FITNESS AND WELLBEING AMENITIES The heart of the podium amenities complex is The Ice Bridge-a masterful work of art that connects the ICE Spa to the gym/yoga/work-out area. The Spa provides the Scandinavian delight of jumping into a cold plunge pool after a hot sauna, then back into the plunge pool and into a hot steam room. They gym comes fully loaded with all the latest cardio and weight-training equipment. The mezzanine fitness level includes two massage rooms and a yoga and aerobics studio. Competing the ICE aquatic experience is a 4' deep pool with a kids' wading area and a whirlpool. The ICE complex also includes a children's play area off the main floor Lobby.
