Oshawa is considered an academic center with three highly acclaimed post-secondary institutions to tour – Durham College, Trent University and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Top things to see include the Canadian Automotive Museum, Parkwood National Historic Site which is where parts of blockbuster films like X-Men and Billy Madison were filmed, and The General Motors Centre, rated as one of the world’s top venues for popular entertainers and sold out concerts. There’s also the not-to-be-missed annual Oshawa festivals that include Doors Open Oshawa, AutoFest and the Maple Syrup Festival.
